for all you people with black horses out there, how do you keep them black and not getting sunbleached?! My mare Midnight (a black horse.. hence midnight ) has gotten all sunbleached and has turned brown!! i really want to know how to keep her from going brown in the summer, but i can't figure it out :S i've even tried using black enhancing shampoooooo, and it DIDN'T work.... please help mee!!!

hmm... you could try buying one of those fancy UV protector sheet things. they're really light weight & should keep her from becoming bleached

Yeah a fly sheet is good, and you can also get supplements to put in her feed to keep her coat black. You could also try a shadded paddock..

haha me too! lol. i've read somewhere in some magazine that fly sheets work for protecting the coat from bleaching.. so next spring i'll get her a fly sheet, and that will help for bugs and stuff too, it'll be good

If I were you I'd get one now. They are TONS cheaper now that spring/summer is over. You can find them for $20-40 cheaper in most places.
